Survey Conducted in St. Kabir Public School to analyze trends of Internet(Jan 22, 2010)
CSRC conducted a survey in St. Kabir Public School for classes VIth to Xth. The survey was designed by CSRC to understand the students’ perceptions about Internet risks and hazards. The survey conducted also elucidated the Internet usage patterns of school children. The survey inferred some very significant results portraying that about nearly 84% of children have Internet at their homes, nearly 50% of students post photos or videos of themselves online, half or more teens post information online about the city where they live (45%) and the name of their school (30%), nearly one in 10 teens (8%) have posted their cell phone number, nearly 60% of parents or guardians do not talk to their children about Internet safety. ........Read More

Training Course Conducted for Defense (Jan 06,2010 to Jan 23, 2010)
Cyber Security Research Centre also organized a fifteen day training course on “Basics of Technology Crime Investigation Techniques’ for Defense Personnel (Military Intelligence) from Jan 06,2010 to Jan 23, 2010. Experts from various fields like industry, Central Forensics & Science Laboratory, practicing lawyers, etc were also invited for giving talks. Other ongoing research projects are also progressing well.

INAUGURATION
The Research Centre was inaugurated on 19th March, 07 by Mr. Kiran Karnik, president NASSCOM and General S.F. Rodrigues, Administrator, Chandigarh and Governor of Punjab. During the Inauguration the NASSCOM director said "the research centre was a landmark, not just in the country but in the world, in trying to get the academics close to industry. General S.F. Rodrigues, Administrator, Chandigarh and Governor of Punjab, said, "Punjab with its encouraging policies is fast emerging as the most favored business and investment destination for IT and BPO companies. On this backdrop, it has become imperative for the Chandigarh administration to take the lead in research to create a technology rich environment conducive for constructive discussions and innovative ideas for further strengthening the security environment in the country."
